Former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan was taken to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) for a scheduled follow-up eye treatment, according to medical officials.

Doctors at the facility administered a second anti-VEGF intravitreal injection as part of his ongoing treatment plan. The procedure was carried out under specialist supervision and standard medical protocols.

Medical Procedure and Supervision

Hospital sources confirmed that the treatment was a routine follow-up, conducted after prior evaluation by ophthalmology specialists. Anti-VEGF injections are commonly used to manage certain retinal and vascular eye conditions.

Medical staff reported that the procedure was completed without complications. Officials stated that Imran Khan remained clinically stable before, during and after the injection.

The visit was handled under day-care protocols, meaning extended hospitalization was not required.

Security and Logistics

Given his high-profile status, security arrangements were made during his transfer to and from the hospital. Authorities ensured controlled access within the medical facility to avoid disruption of routine hospital operations.

No public interaction or political activity was reported during the visit. Officials maintained that the purpose of the transfer was strictly medical.

Political Context

Imran Khan’s health has drawn attention amid ongoing legal and political developments involving the former premier. However, no additional medical concerns were reported in connection with this visit.

Sources said he was discharged after completion of the procedure and provided with follow-up instructions by attending specialists.

Further medical reviews are expected as part of his ongoing treatment schedule.
