[Karachi – 15th May 2026]  L’Oréal Pakistan announced a significant milestone in its journey toward domestic capability building: the successful localization of Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES), a critical raw material for shampoo production.

This strategic onboarding of Tufail Chemical Industries Ltd. as a qualified local supplier marks a pivotal shift in L’Oréal’s operational footprint in Pakistan, reinforcing the company’s long-term investment mindset and commitment to the country’s industrial growth.

A milestone in the Strategic Localization initiative, this will significantly reduce dependency on imports while maintaining L’Oréal’s stringent global qualification standards.

“This achievement demonstrates our unwavering trust in Pakistani industry and its technical capability,” said Rehan Saeed, Executive General Manager at L’Oréal Pakistan. “For us, localization is a strategic enabler for future growth. By developing local supplier capability to global standards, we are not only strengthening our own supply chain resilience and agility but also contributing to the broader development of the Pakistani manufacturing ecosystem.”

Sustainability and Pakistani capability development at the Core, this partnership aligns with L’Oréal’s sustainability roadmap. The shift will contribute positively to:

  • Carbon Footprint Reduction: Significant reduction in logistics-related emissions by shortening the distance between raw material production and manufacturing.
  • Supply Chain Agility: Improved lead times, allowing for a faster response to market needs and consumer trends.
  • Long-term Sustainability: Building a model that supports future growth acceleration in the region.
  • Quality and Compliance: Quality remains at the heart of L’Oréal’s operations and is upheld as a non-negotiable standard. Tufail Chemical Industries Ltd. successfully completed a rigorous global qualification process, proving that Pakistani suppliers can meet the world’s most demanding beauty-tech standards. This success serves as a blueprint for further raw material localization opportunities in the future.

This milestone reflects L’Oréal Pakistan’s commitment to building a more resilient and future-ready supply chain through strong local partnerships. By investing in Pakistani manufacturing capability and collaborating with trusted suppliers such as Tufail Chemical Industries Ltd., the company continues to drive long-term growth, sustainability, and industrial development in the country.
